Quirino Celebrates Nutrition Month 2026: Blending Healthy Living with Environmental Care

The Local Government Unit of Quirino, through its Municipal Health Office and Municipal Nutrition Action Office, successfully celebrated Nutrition Month 2026 under the theme “Nutrisiyon at Kalikasan: Ating Pangalagaan.” The event brought together students, teachers, and community members for a day dedicated to educational discussions, creative competitions, and local trade centered on healthy living and environmental stewardship. Guest resource speaker Mr. John Philip P. Gabriel, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of Bacnotan, La Union, emphasized the vital link between sustainable eco-friendly practices and long-term community health. Highlights of the celebration showcased local youth talent: Patungcaleo Integrated School dominated the stage by capturing the championship in both the Elementary Nutri-Jingle and High School Ground Demonstration competitions, while Namitpit Integrated School claimed first place in the Waste-to-Useful Creations contest for transforming recyclable materials into innovative products. Additionally, local barangays participated in the “Talipapa” Bounty Plate Food Fair to promote fresh, local produce. Concluding the event, the LGU of Quirino extended its heartfelt gratitude to all participating schools, educators, and students for their active involvement in making the celebration a resounding success.
